Environmental Justice in Austin, Texas and the U.S.
This week we dug deeper into climate justice issues and actions happening all over Texas and the US, specifically concerning communities of color, fence line communities, the history of coercion of indigenous populations and of governmental and corporate land grabs for production of fossil fuels, agriculture, and other industries.
Our guests were Sarah Sharif, Lead Organizer for the Sierra Club, Austin Chapter, and Mayte Salazar, Apprentice Organizer with Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign, working on local environmental justice campaigns to expand access to energy efficiency and renewable energy across Texas.
